Milan, 21 March (LaPresse) – "We are used to not believing a word of what the propaganda machine spouts, but if there is even a glimmer of truth in the “leaked” information, we cannot fail to dwell on the fundamental fact: Sara and Sandro died in action; they died fighting. Social war is not a performance, a lifestyle or a subculture. It is, first and foremost, a war. Sara and Sandro are a shining example of the inextricable union between thought and action that inspires anarchism, of revolutionaries right up to the last moment of their lives, and in death. Sara and Sandro are and will forever be a part of our heart, a heart that can only refuse to write an obituary.” This is what is stated in a lengthy message signed by various Italian anarchist groups regarding the deaths of Sara Ardizzone and Alessandro Mercogliano, who died in the explosion triggered by the bomb they were constructing. “ We say this without any indulgence in rhetoric: the two anarchists found dead after the collapse of a cottage in Rome, Sara Ardizzone and Alessandro Mercogliano, are our comrades, whom we are proud to count among our ranks – the text reads – The paid hacks, from whose trash we learnt of the incident, write repeatedly of the explosion of a device. The anxious distancing, always aimed at ensuring a shameful safety, is not our way.”
