Bolzano, March 21 (LaPresse) – A major rescue operation is underway in Val Ridanna, in South Tyrol, where an avalanche has struck ten people. The alarm was raised on Saturday morning at 11:40 a.m. According to an initial update, at least ten people are involved, all equipped with ARTVA devices, the essential tracking system used to locate individuals buried under snow. The incident occurred at an altitude of 2,300 meters. Rescue operations are currently ongoing, supported by five helicopters. The Innsbruck emergency operations center has also been alerted, and requests have been made for intensive care beds at hospitals in Merano, Bolzano and Bressanone. The Financial Police and all Alpine Rescue teams from the district are on site.
