Rome, Feb. 20 (LaPresse) – Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has informed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that, “since the time of the G7 leaders' videoconference next Feb. 24 perfectly coincides with the breakfast she offered to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and his subsequent speech at the Italo-Emirati Business Forum, as part of the long-scheduled state visit to Italy of the president of the United Arab Emirates, it will not be possible for her to take part in person. The Italian government will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani.” Thus Palazzo Chigi in a note regarding the telephone conversation Meloni had today with Trudeau, the G7 rotating president. “The conversation,” the note reads, ”provided an opportunity to once again extend best wishes for the good work of the Canadian rotating presidency of the G7 and reiterate the hope that full continuity can be ensured to the results obtained by the Italian presidency with particular reference to the issues of Africa, the Mediterranean and irregular migration.
