Rome, 27 Mar. (LaPresse) – ‘The League does not intend to take any step backward with respect to the ten-year tax-collection scheme. We respect but are not convinced by the analyses that, on a purely accounting basis, speak of the lack of success of the previous scrappings, because they evidently do not take into account the catastrophes (pandemic, energy crisis, war) that have hit the economic fabric since 2020, i.e. since when the scrappage ter would have come into force. Now, with international tensions still ongoing, high utility bills and more than 1.3 trillion lire outstanding, it would be illogical and foolish to continue to burden millions of honest and decent Italians who are asking to be able to work, produce and live honestly in a sustainable manner. We are determined to go ahead with our proposal of common sense and civilisation in order to meet the needs of citizens and businesses that want to comply with the tax authorities'. This was stated by Alberto Bagnai, deputy chairman of the League, chairman of the Finance Committee and head of the party's Economy department.
