Rome, 22 April (LaPresse) – ‘All the messages that Pope Francis sent to politicians were to work for others, for the weakest and the sickest.’ This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Restart on Rai 3. ‘The other strong message,’ he added, ‘is that of prisons. Because with the situation we have in prisons, we must never be lenient with those who have committed crimes, but those in prison must live with dignity. The punishment is deprivation of freedom, not dignity.’ Tajani also highlighted Bergoglio's ’battle for the earth and the environment, which was completely different from that of ideological environmentalists.’
