Milan, 30 April (LaPresse) – ‘25 April is not just about remembrance, but a firm call to commitment’. The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, said this during his meeting at the Quirinale with representatives of the Combatant and Armed Forces Associations on the 80th anniversary of the Liberation. ‘The Liberation was the result of an individual movement of consciences. It was a suffered and complex choral work’, “it was the fruit of collaboration” also “with the allied forces”, he added. ‘Let us pay tribute to the protagonists of those events, to the interweaving of ideals, choices and sacrifices that led us towards the new, free and democratic Italy,’ Mattarella stressed.
