Milan, April 30 (LaPresse) – "Mandatory arrest in the act is foreseen in cases of personal injury against teachers and school administrators. Furthermore, there is an increase in penalties for injuries to school staff: minor injuries now carry a sentence of 6 months to 3 years, whereas the new law increases this to 2 to 5 years in prison. A teacher, a school administrator cannot be touched. An educator working for our children cannot be touched."
This was stated by the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, at a press conference following the Council of Ministers meeting. The minister clarified that the arrest in flagrante does not apply to minors and reminded that, compared to the past, "in 2024 and with a trend continuing this school year, it is primarily parents who are attacking teachers and administrators."
