Rome, 15 May. (LaPresse) – The reform for the separation of careers ‘was already approved in the Chamber of Deputies months ago, and it was not even a necessity but rather a rational consequence that, after the discussion in Montecitorio, there should be an adequate discussion in the Senate, which, however, should not descend into obstructionism or a waste of time.’ This was stated by Justice Minister Carlo Nordio, speaking in the Chamber of Deputies on the sidelines of the conference 'Legitimate impediment. A right for the legal profession' organised by the National Bar Council. The opposition, the minister added, “has already had all the time available: it has held dozens of hearings, hundreds of consultations, listened to everyone possible, heard the most varied opinions, from those who said that it is, all things considered, an insufficient reform, to those who argued that it is actually punitive towards the judiciary”.
