Rome, 23 May (LaPresse) – ‘The ferocious and bloody attack carried out by the Mafia thirty-three years ago in Capaci, and repeated a few weeks later in Via D'Amelio in Palermo, is one of the deepest wounds in our republican history’. These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, on the 33rd anniversary of the Capaci massacre. ‘My first thoughts, as moved today as they were then, go to those who lost their lives,’ he added, "Giovanni Falcone, together with Francesca Morvillo, Antonio Montinaro, Rocco Dicillo and Vito Schifani. They are joined in indissoluble memory by Paolo Borsellino, Emanuela Loi, Agostino Catalano, Walter Eddie Cosina, Vincenzo Li Muli and Claudio Traina. Servants of the state, whom the mafia killed with sensational violence to subjugate the civil community."
