Rome, June 12 (LaPresse) – "School dropout paves the way for educational poverty, social marginalization and, in the most serious cases, the involvement of minors in illegal activities or under the control of criminal environments. This triggers a vicious cycle that, generation after generation, undermines the growth and development opportunities of children and their families.
The Constitution, in Articles 31 and 34, clearly affirms the duty of the Republic to protect childhood and guarantee the right to education.
Working for the full realization of children's rights is a social duty that reflects the level of civilization and cohesion of a people. It is the foundation upon which to build a fairer society, capable of responsibly facing both present and future challenges."
So said the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
