Milan, 26 June (LaPresse) – At the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, "there was a discussion in which most of the regions took note of the concerns raised by the Campania Region regarding the risk or certainty that these regions will have to adopt provisional budgets. This is the main problem with the PNRR deadline in June. It is an issue that I will discuss with the government, because it is certainly something we must take into consideration, as it would effectively paralyse the regions for several months at such a delicate time." This was the response of the president of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, Massimiliano Fedriga, when speaking to reporters who asked him about the failure of the regions to reach an agreement on the possibility of postponing the elections scheduled for autumn. “We cannot allow some regions to go into provisional budget every five years. It is a problem,” he stressed, “raised by the Campania Region, which needs to be addressed”. ‘I have read that some people are linking this to the third term, but it has nothing to do with it. The issue of a third term was never mentioned at today's Conference of Regions meeting, not even touched upon. It is a totally different issue. It now seems to me that there is a political faction that sees the spectre of a third term in everything that is done,’ Fedriga specified.
