Rome, 2 July (LaPresse) – ‘I don't intend to bore you with the sheer number of areas in which we have worked, are working and will continue to work even better with the American administration, but I would like to reiterate something that I consider important. Today, Italy and the United States speak the same language on many issues. This is a very positive factor, especially in the complex international situation we are facing.’ These were the words of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni speaking at Villa Taverna for the celebration of American Independence Day. "This is certainly good for our relations, which can grow and prosper further, but it is also good for the strength, unity and cohesion of the West. Because the unity of the West is an essential condition for facing all the great challenges of our time,‘ Meloni emphasised. ’This is also true, or perhaps even more so, when our points of view do not coincide perfectly, because we are historical allies and our ties are based on loyalty, mutual respect and the awareness that the strength of one is automatically the strength of the other."
