Rome, 6 July (LaPresse) – On the issue of ius scholae, ‘I would like to convince our allies and citizens that we are not dangerous laxists or weak, but the exact opposite’. This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, speaking at the Forum in Masseria 2025, interviewed by Bruno Vespa. ‘It is not the colour of your skin that makes you Italian,’ he added, ‘and there is no danger of an Islamic invasion in our schools. I strongly believe in our identity and our culture.’ ‘It is cultural laxity that makes us weak,’ he emphasised. Removing the crucifix from schools is a sign of weakness. If we are strong in our identity, why should we be afraid of incorporating others? That is a sign of weakness.‘ ’I want more Italians because we also need foreign labour in our businesses,‘ he continued, before concluding: ’I have not backtracked, I am not used to doing so."
