Rome, 8 July (LaPresse) – "We want to win the elections in Veneto and, above all, we want to continue to govern Veneto well. A new presidential candidate will have to be chosen and we will sit down around a table. Each political force will make its proposals. We must choose the best candidate; this is not about dividing up the spoils. We will put forward Flavio Tosi as our candidate because he is a man who knows how to govern. He was regional councillor for health, which is not a minor issue in Veneto, because although we are doing very well in terms of excellence, there is much to be done in terms of local healthcare. Tosi has what it takes to govern a region well." This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Forza Italia leader Antonio Tajani on the sidelines of a conference on the Mediterranean at the Chamber of Deputies. “We do not want to impose our candidates on anyone,” he added, 'but we do not want them to be imposed on us either, so we will discuss, see and find the best candidate. We will support the centre-right candidate, whoever it may be, Tosi or someone else, as we are doing in the Marche region with Acquaroli."
