Rome, 15 July (LaPresse) – "We discussed the ongoing trade negotiations between the European Union and the United States. We agree that a trade war on both sides of the Atlantic must be avoided at all costs. We will continue to work together with other leaders, and obviously in close contact with the Commission, towards an agreement that is mutually beneficial and must be concluded before 1 August. The goal remains to strengthen the West as a whole and make our already closely interconnected economies even stronger. All other scenarios would be totally senseless in the current context." This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in her remarks to the press at the end of the bilateral meeting at Palazzo Chigi with Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker.
