Milan, 24 July (LaPresse) – "I saw Sala's reaction and I stand by him, he has my full support. For Ricci, who is involved in an election campaign, the situation is even more uncomfortable. But he must not stop. We are talking about a notice of investigation. If you believe in the presumption of innocence, you have to abide by it. And it should not only apply to friends and party colleagues. Nor is it right to pretend to believe in the presumption of innocence and then go ahead with the second line of defence." This was the response of Genoa Mayor Silvia Salis to Corriere della Sera regarding the investigations involving the mayors of Milan and Pesaro. “These investigations often come to nothing,” added Salis, who believes that “we must not rush to judgement” and that “we must let the magistrates do their work”. In any case, “to be on the safe side, we must do things properly, transparently, relying on capable and serious collaborators”.
