Rome, 25 July (LaPresse) – ‘I have never been involved in public contracts or tenders, it is not something that is the responsibility of the mayor by law, but of the administrative and managerial structure’. This was clarified by PD MEP and candidate for the leadership of the Marche Region, Matteo Ricci, in an interview with La Repubblica, regarding the notice of investigation received for the “Affidopoli” affair in Pesaro. While the PD has supported him, the M5S has put its campaign on hold. "I have explained everything; what I am saying to you, I said first to Conte. However, I would like to add one thing. My passion for politics began in 1984, when I was nine years old. Like every summer, I went to the Festa dell'Unità with my grandfather, a former miner in Belgium. That year, the festival was plastered with posters of Enrico Berlinguer, who had recently died. I asked who he was, and my grandfather replied that he was an honest and decent person who always stood up for the weak. I am the son of that history, honesty and transparency are my values, just as they are those of the Five Star Movement'.
