Rome, 29 July (LaPresse) – Is this the first time that a constitutional reform coming out of Palazzo Chigi has been approved without amendments? "I haven't checked whether this is the first time, but I trust that it is. However, this does not necessarily mean that the will of parliamentarians has been suppressed. It may also mean that the majority parliamentarians, faced with a deadlock, gave up on further discussion, as there was a risk of blocking the bill itself, according to what I have been told." This was stated by Senate President Ignazio La Russa during the Ventaglio ceremony at Palazzo Madama regarding the separation of careers.
