Rome, August 8 (LaPresse) – "Do you think it’s normal that with what is happening, with the crimes being carried out by Netanyahu’s far-right government in Gaza and the West Bank, with the plan voted on yesterday, we have not heard a single word of condemnation from Giorgia Meloni and the Italian government? At the same time, Germany, albeit very late, decided to block arms exports to Israel, Belgium summoned the ambassador, Denmark issued a statement, and from the Italian government, silence. Not a clear word of condemnation from Giorgia Meloni has emerged. They are playing with the international credibility of our country, which has always been very attentive to the Palestinian issue. Our country has a geographic position in the Mediterranean as a bridge, a connection with the Arab world. They are throwing all of this away because of their inability to tell their political allies Trump and Netanyahu to stop. They should work to stop Netanyahu. It is not possible not to hear a strong voice, even from the EU." This is what PD secretary Elly Schlein said during a social media live broadcast. "Without a strong condemnation," Meloni and the government "will throw away this country’s international credibility."
