Milan, August 9 (LaPresse) – “Our goal is twofold: to intervene promptly to relieve the emergency and to continue supporting political and diplomatic efforts for a lasting ceasefire — a necessary condition for the only possible peace, based on the principle of two peoples, two states.” This was stated by Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto regarding Italy’s first airdrop of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
“Italy is always ready and willing to bring hope and assist those most in need,” the minister said. “Through this operation, the Defense Ministry reaffirms its commitment to supporting civilians affected by war, helping to reduce suffering and save lives.”
“This is also the mission of the Defense Ministry: to protect, to care, to rebuild — putting our capabilities and expertise at the service of Italy and the international community. This is what the men and women in uniform do every day with dedication and professionalism, wherever they are called to serve,” Crosetto concluded.
