Milan, August 30 (LaPresse) – “For too long, the Public Administration has remained stagnant, losing nearly 300,000 employees over ten years due to turnover freezes. We have reversed this trend: between 2023 and 2024, over 350,000 people joined the administration staff. In the first seven months of 2025, more than 11,000 calls for applications were published for over 100,000 positions. These numbers tell a real story of change, a Public Administration renewing itself, capable of attracting talent and looking to the future.”

This was stated by the Minister for Public Administration, Paolo Zangrillo, at the “La Piazza” event by Affaritaliani.it in Ceglie Messapica.

“We are not just replacing retirees: we are creating new jobs, allowing an unprecedented generational turnover. In a context marked by profound changes, the Public Administration is called to make a leap in quality. That is why the 'merit' bill, currently under parliamentary review, provides for a new system of performance measurement and evaluation, linked to career and growth prospects. Rewarding merit means motivating people, growing organizations, and offering citizens and businesses increasingly efficient and quality services,” Zangrillo continued.
