Rome, 20 September (LaPresse) – ‘Concern’ about what happened in Estonian airspace ‘is enormous because this is the third time in a few days that the Russians have violated European airspace. NATO aircraft, including Italian ones, had to be scrambled, and this is the first time they have had to defend our airspace, so concern is enormous’ said PD secretary Elly Schlein at a press conference in Pergola, in the Marche region. ‘The European Union,’ she added, "must be united and compact, and it must also make a diplomatic and political effort to end this war, which also risks spreading. Ukraine, the country that has unfortunately suffered a criminal invasion by Putin's Russia, must be at the negotiating table, but alongside Ukraine there must be a united and compact European Union working for a just peace that is not a surrender to the aggressor's reasons."
