On this point, the government chose to ignore the rules and arrogantly proceeded with the approval of the Cipess resolution." So said Angelo Bonelli, member of the Green and Left Alliance and co-spokesperson for Europa Verde. “A similar situation,” he explains, “occurred just five days ago, when the Vice-President of the European Commission, Stéphane Séjourné, informed me that Brussels had also requested clarification on the legislation relating to tenders and contracts”. "The bridge over the Strait is breaking European rules. And although Salvini was fully aware of this, he committed €13.5 billion of public money, wiping out funds for sustainable public transport, cutting €1.6 billion from the road and bridge maintenance fund and diverting over €6 billion of development and cohesion funds earmarked for railways, schools and healthcare. The bridge will not be built. It is illegal, unsustainable and harmful to Italy. Let's allocate €13.5 billion to healthcare, public transport and housing," he concludes.
