Rome, 27 October (LaPresse) – "At the heart of it all – as a duty of the institutions and in line with the expectations of Italians – is the right to health, which the Constitution defines as a universal right. Innovations that benefit people's lives must have a positive impact on the entire National Health Service system, which is grappling with an ageing population, the cost of life-saving drugs, shortages of medical and nursing staff, in short, with difficulties that represent obstacles to the full achievement of one of the most important goals in the life of the Republic." These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, speaking at the Quirinale during the ceremony celebrating “Research Days”.
