Rome, 14 November (LaPresse) – ‘There is no punitive aspect towards the judiciary, but rather a rebalancing of legislative and judicial powers.’ This was stated by Justice Minister Carlo Nordio during his speech at the AIGA Congress, currently underway in Bergamo. ‘But this is not a revenge,’ he added, "there is nothing to avenge. The judiciary has done its duty, and we all make mistakes.‘ ’It would be a mistake to turn the referendum into a sort of challenge between the judiciary and the government, a mistake to politicise it,‘ he continued. ’Not because we are afraid of losing, but because we think we will win, and if the judiciary were to take an aggressive stance and then be defeated politically, it would not be painless."
