Rome, Nov. 26 (LaPresse) – “The decision of the EU Court of Justice does not imply any changes for Italy,” explained Minister Eugenia Roccella on Ping Pong, Rai Radio1, following the ruling that requires EU member states to recognise same-sex marriages contracted in other EU countries. “It is a ruling concerning free movement, not the family model. Italy already has civil unions, which produce effects across all legislation related to spouses. The word ‘spouse’ and the term ‘civil union’ are integrated,” she said.
