Milan, 9 January (LaPresse) – "I have made a list of the responsibilities of magistrates on security issues, because I believe that those in positions of responsibility are called upon to fulfil that responsibility. That is what you remind me of every day, and rightly so. But it is right that this should be done across the board, including for magistrates. There is no question of delegitimisation. Do you know what delegitimises magistrates? The campaign carried out by the ANM in stations, because if those whose DNA is to seek the truth write lies to defend their perfectly legitimate campaign against the referendum, this delegitimises them'. So said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the press conference at the beginning of the year in the Chamber of Deputies' parliamentary groups' hall. 'Just as lies delegitimise politics and journalists. Anyone who has a position of responsibility is called upon to fulfil it with dignity and honour, as our Constitution would say. The better magistrates, politicians and journalists do their jobs, the better it is for everyone. This is what I refer to when I disagree. This does not mean that we cannot talk about it and that we should not hold magistrates accountable for certain decisions that are made about justice, which clearly have the consequence of jeopardising our security. Just as it is essential to hold politicians accountable when they make mistakes," she added.
