Rome, 14 Jan. (LaPresse) – There are questions about the Lega’s position in favor of the Ukraine decree-law and the majority resolution that will be voted on tomorrow after the statements of Defense Minister Guido Crosetto.
“No, I have read the resolution and it seems very balanced to me; it focuses a lot on defense and not on attack, war, or weapons, which is what I had requested,” says Deputy Prime Minister and Lega leader Matteo Salvini, responding to reporters on the sidelines of the Carroccio Departments meeting.
No doubts either about the party’s support for the decree renewing aid to Kyiv: “The text states that priority is given to defense, the civilian population, cyber security, and logistical tools, which means that we have been listened to.”
Will he allow freedom of conscience for those, like Senator Claudio Borghi, who have expressed doubts? “If we voted for it, we voted for it; then ask Borghi. The movement’s position seems clear and evident to me, we are pleased, it talks about defense, no longer about attack, so it’s fine,” he replies.
