Rome, 1 February (LaPresse) – "Clearly, no one thought that the events in Turin would escalate to the level of brutality we witnessed yesterday. Slogans and shoving are one thing, completely wrong but we've seen plenty of that before. Carrying bags full of stones and hammering a police officer is quite another. I don't think anyone could have predicted something like that. The security decree includes preventive detention. Piantedosi proposes extending it to 48 hours in the 12 hours prior to an event. I would consider extending it to 48 hours." So said Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, speaking to journalists at a Lega gazebo in Rome.
