Reading about influential figures and party leaders placing the AVS symbol over the image of Quentin's brutal murder, I consider this to be extremely serious. And you know who I am referring to, Minister Salvini, who pointed the finger at us as being responsible." This was stated by AVS co-spokesperson Angelo Bonelli, speaking in the Chamber of Deputies. ‘In recent days, both Mr Fratoianni and I have received very serious threats, which we have all reported to the police. Let me show you,’ he added, showing the chamber some papers, "this is a letter that was delivered to me, it is a picture of my wife, my daughter, our home address and where my wife and daughter live. Serious death threats, a machete, they will cut off my head. Continuing, this one arrived a few days ago, linked to the clashes in Turin: “We will hammer your children to death. We will shoot you in the head and smash your brains out”. This one was sent to my sister. What does my sister have to do with this? “That filthy pig of a brother of yours, we will hang him upside down in Piazza Maggiore in Bologna, we will cut off his shitty head”. I could go on, but out of respect for this chamber, there are far worse ones. So, I appeal for non-violence, and I say this to young people: non-violence is a revolutionary tool, it disarms violent minds, it disarms the hands of violent people. Do not fall into the trap of violence, take to the streets peacefully, because non-violence is a revolutionary tool that disarms minds and prevents those who have a strategy of criminalising dissent,' he concluded, calling for an urgent briefing from Home Secretary Matteo Piantedosi.
