Rome, March 2 (LaPresse) – A clash erupted between Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and M5S leader Giuseppe Conte during the minister’s reply in the briefing before the Foreign Affairs and Defence committees of the Senate and the Chamber. “Trump has never called me Tony, whereas he used to call you Giuseppi, so you must have had a friendly relationship with him,” Tajani said, replying to the former prime minister, who had earlier criticised him over the MAGA cap worn during the Peace Board meeting. “The cap was a gift, and I have never been on my knees either before Angela Merkel or before Donald Trump as you did. And I am not ashamed of anything,” Tajani added, while chaos broke out in the committee amid protests from the opposition, starting with Conte.
