Rome, 14 March (LaPresse) – Should sanctions against Russia be maintained? “Absolutely yes. Italy was among the countries that promoted sanctions against Russia to push Moscow towards a ceasefire.” So said the Foreign Minister and secretary of Forza Italia, Antonio Tajani, on the sidelines of a party event at Rome’s Tiburtina Station ahead of the referendum on judicial reform. In Ukraine too, the Deputy Prime Minister added, “we want the war to end as soon as possible. We support any initiative; we have backed US action and hope that talks between the two sides can move in the right direction, even if it is very difficult, but peace is the ultimate goal. We are not at war with Russia either.”
