Pontida (Bergamo), 22 March (LaPresse) – “Bossi, Bossi”, “Free Padania”, “Freedom, freedom”, “Thieving Rome, the North will not forgive”. These are some of the slogans being chanted in Pontida’s Piazza del Giuramento, in front of the Abbey of San Giacomo, where the funeral of Umberto Bossi, founder of the Lega who died last Thursday at the age of 84, will take place at 12 noon. Hundreds of Carroccio supporters, wearing green scarves and waving Lega Lombarda flags bearing the image of Alberto da Giussano, have already gathered in front of a giant screen to watch the funeral. Among the first prominent figures to arrive were the Minister for the Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, and the Senate group leader and secretary of the Lega Lombarda, Massimiliano Romeo.
