Rome, 24 March (LaPresse) – “The Bossi I knew, marked by illness, was quite different. He had embarked on a genuine journey of Christian faith.” This is what Don Cesare Zuccato, parish priest of Luino, told *Famiglia Cristiana* about Umberto Bossi, founder of the Northern League, who passed away on 19 March. “We met through a mutual friend,” explains Don Zuccato, “Senator Giuseppe Leoni, three or four years ago, and he began attending Mass, accompanied by Leoni and his wife Emanuela, at the church in Buguggiate, where I was parish priest before moving to Luino last autumn.” The parish priest emphasises: “Umberto Bossi was a changed man; he had made his peace with the Almighty.”
