Rome, Mar. 25 (LaPresse) – Is the era of foreign popes and power brokers over, as Dario Franceschini said today? "Yes." This was stated by PD secretary Elly Schlein during a meeting at the Foreign Press Association. "We will agree on the methods" for choosing the leader, she added. "Meloni’s political difficulty did not start today, eh? It worsened with the outcome of the referendum, but it began when we won in Puglia and Campania. We will agree on everything, and I am confident because all of us, including colleagues from allied forces, feel the responsibility," the Democratic leader continued. "The Prime Minister knows this; my duty is to work to have, at any time—from tomorrow until the end of the legislature—a coalition. Before, the coalition did not exist and we built it. I will consult with colleagues from other opposition forces because I believe that building the alternative program cannot disregard the effort to involve the people who voted no in the referendum and who must be listened to. We will look for the best way, without locking ourselves into discussions or politicized methods," Schlein concluded.
