Rome, 26 March (LaPresse) – “The European Parliament has given the green light to new rules on returns: Europe is finally moving in the right direction, following a course that Italy has strongly supported.” Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni wrote this on social media. “With return hubs,” explains the Prime Minister, “the scope for identifying a country of return for irregular migrants is expanded, including not only countries of origin but also third countries.” “It is an important step towards making returns more effective, strengthening border controls and finally giving Europe a more credible migration policy,” concludes Meloni.
