This was stated by M5S leader Giuseppe Conte in a video on social media. The former prime minister also spoke about the situation in Iran and political developments in Italy. "The situation is truly serious. In just a few hours, the ultimatum given by Trump to Iran expires. We cannot remain idle; we must demand firm and decisive action from our European leaders: an appeal urging Trump to stop, not to go further," Conte said. "If the hawks in Washington are suggesting an irreversible intervention, Europe must make itself heard with preventive action, a preventive statement of firm condemnation. The ambiguous positions of our Prime Minister Meloni—‘I do not condemn and I do not agree’—will cost us dearly. Instead, our prime minister should act with other leaders to urgently push for a unified declaration of condemnation."
