Rome, Apr 13 (LaPresse) – “It will be up to us to seriously take care of these concrete needs of people. And look, if there is no vision, I don’t think they will be able to get to the end of the legislature. The other day the Prime Minister arrived without a vision for the country, without self-criticism and without an idea for relaunching government action. In all this, essentially the only thing they said is that they want to try to get to the end of the legislature, but the point is: to do what?” said Democratic Party leader Elly Schlein opening the party’s national executive. “I have already responded to Bonelli and Fratoianni’s appeal” on the programme “by making myself available to meet in order to share everything and I am sure we will find an agreement on the leadership and the programme path,” Schlein added. “We should try to rebuild and restore this sense of peace, trust and calm. We should not do it alone, as I said, we should do it together with other progressive forces. I will continue to work stubbornly for unity, convinced that I have your full support in this direction, but above all today is the time to open doors and windows and understand how to intercept those desires, dreams and hopes that have been expressed in the wonderful squares and the wonderful ballot boxes we have seen in our country and also in the rest of Europe.”
