Because tackling illegal immigration requires seriousness, courage and concrete solutions.” This was posted on social media by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, commenting on the opinion of the Advocate General of the EU Court, Nicholas Emiliou, according to whom the Italy-Albania Protocol is compatible with EU legislation on return and asylum procedures, provided that migrants’ rights are fully protected.
