Turin, Feb. 4 (LaPresse) – Elisabetta Cocciaretto has progressed past the first round of the Transylvania Open, the WTA 250 tournament in Cluj-Napoca, the premier event on the tennis calendar in Romania.
The Italian, seeded seventh in the tournament, defeated home player Irina-Camelia Begu, ranked No. 78 in the world, in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 7-5 in a match lasting 1 hour and 54 minutes.
