Milan, March 18 (LaPresse) – Jannik Sinner has confirmed his participation in the Hamburg Open (May 17-24, 2025) to best prepare for Roland Garros. The world number 1 will play at Rothenbaum for the first time in his career, and his participation will be the cherry on top for an already high-level group of players. Before Sinner, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune, Andrey Rublev, Gael Monfils, and Germans Jan-Lennard Struff, along with the star duo Krawietz-Puetz, had already confirmed their participation. Sinner will return from his doping suspension on May 5 at the Italian Open in Rome, which runs until May 18. Then, he will head to Germany to complete his preparation for the French Open, which starts on May 25.
Sinner will be the first player, after Roger Federer in 2008, to compete in Hamburg as world number one. "I’m excited to make my debut at the Hamburg Open, a tournament steeped in history in our sport. The fans always create a fantastic atmosphere on the beautiful center court. I can't wait to play at Rothenbaum in May and finally visit Hamburg," said Sinner regarding his participation in the tournament.
