Milan, 30 Mar. (LaPresse) – Fiorentina don't give up, beating Atalanta 1-0 at the Franchi stadium and keeping their hopes of qualifying for the next European cups alive. For Atalanta, on the other hand, the Scudetto dream is probably over. The match was decided by Kean's 16th goal of the season. Palladino's team has temporarily caught up with Lazio in seventh place with 51 points, 5 behind fourth-placed Bologna and just one point behind sixth-placed Roma. Atalanta, on the other hand, remain stuck on 58 points, 6 behind Inter who play later against Udinese, but above all they must now start to watch their backs as Bologna and Juve are respectively 2 and 3 points behind. Fiorentina confirmed the attacking duo Gudmundsson and Kean, while Gasperini at Atalanta gave Retegui a last-minute start. The first half was very even and it was only in the final moments that the deadlock was broken thanks to the usual Kean who stole the ball in midfield and ran unopposed towards the goal beating Carnesecchi. Both teams played at a high tempo and in the second half there were chances at both ends. Fagioli almost scored a second goal for the Viola, but Carnesecchi saved. Then De Ketelaere had the chance to equalise for Atalanta, but when he was passed the ball in the area by Pasalic, he shot just wide of the post. The Dea tried to push with greater determination, but this left space for the deadly Viola counterattacks. Fiorentina came close to doubling their lead again with twenty minutes to go, when Ranieri, one-on-one with Carnesecchi, allowed himself to be hypnotised and incredibly shot the ball at the goalkeeper. This was in fact the last real excitement of the match, as Palladino's team skilfully controlled the game in the final stages, defusing any attempt by the Nerazzurri Orobici.
