Turin, 3 Apr. (LaPresse) – Gabriele Gravina has been appointed first vice-president of UEFA. Today in Belgrade, during the 49th Ordinary UEFA Congress, the president of the FIGC was confirmed in the Executive Committee for the next four years, receiving 48 preferences and being the second most voted member together with the German Hans-Joachim Watzke and after the Dutch Frank Paauw (49 preferences). Immediately afterwards, during the Executive Committee meeting that followed the congress, Gravina was appointed first vice-president of UEFA. ‘I am happy and proud,’ commented the president of the Italian Football Federation, ‘this election is an extraordinary recognition of the important contribution made by Italian football to the development of the sport we love the most’.
