Milan, April 14 (LaPresse) – The design of the Olympic torch for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Games was unveiled today at the Triennale Museum in Milan, exactly 298 days before the Games begin.
In the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, and the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, the event opened with an emotional video celebrating "beauty." Then, via a video link from the Italian Pavilion at the Expo in Osaka, Japan, the Olympic and Paralympic torches were revealed for the first time.
These torches will be used in the traditional relay that will begin on November 26, 2025, in Olympia, Greece, and conclude on February 6, 2026, in Milan during the opening ceremony.
Bringing the Olympic and Paralympic torches on stage in Milan were two Italian sports legends: Stefania Belmondo and Bebe Vio. In Japan, the unveiling was led by Carolina Kostner and Martina Caironi.
