Turin, April 18 (LaPresse) – Six people were arrested following clashes between police and fans in Bilbao yesterday during the second leg of the Europa League quarterfinal between Athletic and Glasgow Rangers. According to 'Relevo', some Scottish fans reportedly left the stadium before the final whistle, violating police protocol which required them to exit last. As a result, ultras came into contact with the police, sparking a tense situation that led Basque fans to throw bottles and firecrackers. Twelve police officers were injured in the clashes, while among the arrested fans were two Britons and four Basques. Three face charges of public disorder, and the other three are accused of assaulting law enforcement officers.
