Turin, May 4 (LaPresse) – Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) made his mark at the Tour de Romandie by winning the final time trial in Geneva, a 17.1 km race. He finished 12 seconds ahead of Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), who still had reason to celebrate as he claimed the overall classification, overtaking Frenchman Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious), who only managed 13th in the time trial and had to relinquish the lead to the Portuguese rider. A strong Alberto Bettiol (XDS Astana Team) secured third place, finishing 18 seconds behind the Belgian, just ahead of Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), who moved up to third overall, pushing Lorenzo Fortunato (XDS Astana Team) down from second to fourth and off the podium.
