Turin, May 8 (LaPresse) – In the final match on Wednesday at the Foro Italico, Luciano Darderi defeated Chinese player Yunchaokete Bu, ranked 73rd in the world, in straight sets with a score of 7-6 (4), 6-3, earning a spot in the second round of the Internazionali d’Italia, a Masters 1000 tournament currently being played on the clay courts of Rome. The Italian player, ranked 46th in the ATP rankings, will now face British player Jack Draper, currently ranked 5th in the world. “It’s really great to be back in Italy. Today the first set was not easy—Bu is a very good player. I was a bit nervous, but in the second set I managed to play my best tennis,” he said after the match. “Facing Draper will be a very tough match, but I’ll try to give it my all.”
