Milan, May 9 (LaPresse) – The men's marathon match of the day took place at the SuperTennis Arena, thanks to the commendable fighting spirit of Holger Rune (No. 10) and Francisco Comesana (No. 63). The Dane, who was a finalist at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in 2023, came out on top with a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Daniil Medvedev (No. 11 in the world) got off to a good start. In his opening match (the second round, after a bye as a seed), the two-time champion conceded just six games (6-4, 6-2) to Britain's Cameron Norrie, a former top 10 player and now ranked 91st. In a match with many twists and turns, Stefanos Tsitsipas previously defeated Alexandre Muller 6-2, 7-6(2) to claim his 17th career victory at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia.
