Milan, 9 May (LaPresse) – Milan came from behind to beat Bologna 3-1 in the early match of the 36th round of Serie A. Gimenez's first brace for the Rossoneri and a goal from Pulisic were decisive in overturning Orsolini's early lead for the Rossoblù. The win is of little use to Milan (fourth place, three points behind, but the other teams still have to play, ed.), except to boost morale ahead of next Wednesday's Coppa Italia final. With today's defeat, Bologna, who fielded a reshuffled line-up, remain in seventh place and probably have to say goodbye to their last chance of qualifying for next season's Champions League. It was an evenly balanced match at San Siro, with Bologna enjoying more possession in the first half, while Milan defended deep and looked to hit on the counter. There were few chances in the first half, with Jovic missing a chance in the Rossoblù area and Orsolini firing over the bar in the final minutes. However, there was bad news for Conceiçao and Italiani, who were forced to replace Tomori and Erlic with injuries just a few days before the Coppa Italia final. Thiaw came on for Milan and Lucumi for Bologna. The second half got off to a flying start and Bologna took the lead through Orsolini, who was picked out by Dallinga and beat Maignan with a deadly left-footed shot from the edge of the box. Milan tried to react with a curling corner kick into the box, but Pavlovic's header failed to find the target. Conceiçao's team pushed forward and found the equaliser in the 73rd minute with Gimenez on the counterattack, assisted by Pulisic. Just over five minutes later, the American striker completes Milan's comeback, beating Skorupski from the centre of the box after a perfect run into the distracted Emilian defence. In stoppage time, it is Gimenez again, on the counterattack, who scores the final goal of the match with a nice move in the box and a low right-footed finish.
