Turin, 10 May (LaPresse) – Joshua Tarling (INEOS Grenadiers) won the 13.7 km time trial in Tirana, the second stage of the Giro d'Italia, finishing one second ahead of Primoz Roglic (Red Bull-Borsa hansgrohe), who consoled himself by taking the pink jersey from Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek), who finished seventh and was forced to relinquish the leader's jersey to the Slovenian, who in turn was one second ahead. Completing the stage podium was Australian Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates), three seconds behind the Briton. Fourth place went to Edoardo Affini (Visma-Lease a bike), the best of the Italians. In the overall standings, Roglic leads Pedersen and Czech Mathias Vecek, who is third, five seconds behind.
